The Specifics

Transformative learning experiences don’t usually happen everyday. But when the right combination of inspirational factors come together, the opportunity to open minds, capture imagination, and dive deep into learning can be magical. Over 80,000 educators around the world have experienced this type of opportunity through Skype in the classroom.

GOOD and Skype believe that we can inspire our next generation of social entrepreneurs, do-gooders, and change makers by teaming up for a special one-on-one Skype session with Blake Mycoskie, the founder of TOMS. The Skype in the classroom Challenge is an opportunity for a well-deserving teacher to bring the founder of one of the world’s most socially innovative companies into their classroom for a unique, once in a lifetime learning experience.

Are you a socially-conscious teacher with an inspired group of students in your classroom? We’re looking for a U.S. based teacher who believes that their class is the best fit to have this conversation with Blake. We’re talking about a teacher and group of students who are interested in things like making the world a better place, doing good while doing well, and breaking the status quo.

The classroom that wins will get a 30-minute one-on-one Skype session with Blake to talk about social entrepreneurship with the chance to ask him anything! The classroom will also get the opportunity to work with GOOD to develop a student-inspired, age-appropriate infographic that they can use to dive deeper into the material.

Are you the teacher with the class we are looking for? Submit your video entry today!

Submissions are open from April 16, 12 p.m. to April 27, 12:00 p.m. PST. If you need some inspiration, check out the Skype in the classroom site to learn how it works.
